New Maintenance

When you click on the add new icon from the Maintenance List, this page slides up from the bottom of the screen:

  1. Description: The type of maintenance being done. This is the title that will show on the list page. For any longer descriptions use the Notes field at the bottom of the page.
  2. Vessel: Which boat this is for. Choose from the drop-down list. The full list of your vessels can be found under the More tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. If the vessel you want isn’t on the drop-down list, click the + button to add a new vessel to the list.
  4. Engine: If the maintenance is engine related, choose it from the drop-down list. Otherwise choose None.
  5. Hours: If an engine is selected, enter its engine hours here. If None was selected above, this field will be hidden.
  6. Date: The date the work was completed.
  7. Type: Choose the type of work performed. Service includes a price and an optional boatyard (e.g. used for “New Bottom Paint”). Expense includes a price but not a boatyard (e.g. used for “Moorage Fees”), and Other includes neither price nor boatyard (e.g. used for “Put Winter Cover On”).\
  8. Price: How much you paid for this service.
  9. Currency Exchange: If you had this work done in a foreign country, click the currencies button to enter the price in the foreign currency and the exchange rate. The price shown here will always be converted to your own currency on the details page.
  10. Boatyard: Which boatyard this work was done at. Choose None if you performed the work yourself. The full list of your boatyards can be found under the More tab at the bottom of the screen.
  11. If the boatyard you want isn’t on the drop-down list, click the + button to add a new boatyard to the list.
  12. Recurring: Toggle this switch if this is a recurring maintenance item. For a description of recurring maintenance, see that page.
  13. Notes: Use this space for a detailed description of the work performed and materials used.
  14. Add: This button will turn blue once you’ve given the item a name. Clicking this saves it and returns you to the list.
